Baby Freij Update

Another doctor's appointment today. It was a short visit, no ultrasound, but we did hear the baby's heartbeat on a Doppler which was strong and healthy. I'm almost 15 weeks and a few weeks into my second trimester. I've sent some pictures to family and friends, but the "bump" is beginning to show. We don't have another scheduled visit till late next month. At that time, they will do a detailed ultrasound and tell us the sex if we wish. At this time, Randy and I are going to wait for the ultimate surprise on the day of the birth to find out the sex.
Pregnancy has been totally enjoyable, however, I've begun to purchase over the counter medications that I never even knew existed. Mineral Oil, Fiber con, Gas-X....ohhhh boy....I just might have to give up my cheese until after the deliver :)!
On the way home from the doctor's office, I was in a bit of a fender bender with the Camry. Thankfully no one was hurt, there was some front end damage, when my car and another car merged together. Thank God he protected all of us today, and I just need to be a little more careful now that there is going to be "a baby on board."

1 year of wedded bliss

Happy Anniversary to my beloved husband! On Monday we will celebrate our First Anniversary. People had told us that the first year of marriage would be the most difficult. Thankfully, I completely disagree! Even though, last August, I moved from the comfort of my family and friends in Indiana and left a wonderful dental hygiene position, the transition to Michigan, a marriage, a new home, and a new job...was a smooth one. Of course, it wouldn't have been possible without the support of my husband and the support from everyone surrounding us.

In the past year, Randy and I have made our house into a home. I was welcomed into a wonderful church community and shared in the joy of spreading the Lord's word at Sunday School. I've learned to cook a few Arabic dishes, and even understand some conversations from time to time. Randy has introduced me and my family to "Hockeytown USA". We all enjoyed watching the Red Wings win the Stanley Cup, while realizing that hockey is a way of life in Michigan.

Randy continues to surprise me daily. His sense of humor warms every room he enters and every person he meets. His generosity is never ending; I find myself learning how to be a better person just by living in the same house together. He recently had the strength to leave his associate dental position to pursue his dreams for him and his family. I am so proud of his determination and focus to make these dreams come true! And the most amazing miracle, is yet to arrive in 2009. I couldn't think of a better gift, a healthy baby and Randy as my husband!

And...God willing...this is only the beginning.

Randy celebrates his 32nd birthday!

Randy's 32nd birthday was this past Sunday, August 3rd. It is a special couple days for Randy and his friends, as 2 of his best friend's birthdays are within a 3 day period. Samer returned from his Honeymoon in Mexico on Friday and turned 34 on Saturday, August 2nd. Mark celebrated his 30th birthday on Monday, August 4th. Erin's husband Travis, also shares the same birthday as Randy, as he celebrated his 28th birthday on Sunday!
Christina (Mark's wife), Sandy (Samer's wife), and I surprised the boys with a dinner downtown at Seldom Blues. We all enjoyed a quiet dinner together in a private room with a beautiful view of the Detroit River and were serenaded by live jazz music throughout the dinner. Afterwards, we returned back to our place to enjoy birthday cake and ice cream.


On Sunday, Randy and I enjoyed driving to Grand Blanc to visit Omar. Randy's mother cooked quite the meal, and we celebrated with his parents, brother, and Grandmother! Happy Birthday Randy...wishing you many, many, more!!!
