Our summer fun continues. These past few months have been terribly hectic, but also filled with joy and celebrations. The second weekend in July, I was able to travel with a fellow woman from church to Nashville, TN for a gathering of Orthodox catechists. She and I are one of 4 woman who are trained in our parish to teach Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. This gathering was the first of its' kind at a national level, and we were honored that our church sponsored us to attend. Huge shout out to Randy's parents who braved the children for 3+ days till Randy could take over childcare and Daddy duties on the weekend. I flew home Sunday around lunch, changed into a dress, and headed to our church to celebrate not one, but two baptisms. Christian and Madison were baptized together while several family members and friends looked on with joy.
The kids enjoyed the post-baptism swim time at Auntie Jen and Uncle John's pool with their cousin Alex.
The kids and I have made one final trip to Indiana for the summer. I didn't know if we were going to be able to pull this off with all the traveling that we've been doing already this summer, but the kids begged to visit Grandma and Grandpa just one more time. And alas, here we are, again. Helaina and Zach made fast friends with Auntie Sheila and Uncle Kevin's grandchildren, Audrey and Austin, who were in town visiting their grandparents for 10 days.
Later that night, we had a bonfire at Great-Grandma Esther's and Great-Grandpa Bob's.
Fire, friends, smores, and hotdogs. What more could you want on a hot, summer night in Indiana.
Thank goodness, Great-Grandpa Bob has a small version of the Porter County Fair happening in his pole barn. The kids couldn't get enough of pictures on the machinery.
