The weather is turning, although we've had many relatively warm and sunny days this fall. Helaina continues her soccer with practice on Tuesdays and games on Saturdays. She's doing really well and we enjoy watching her games. Zachary has a sports class on Tuesday afternoons and both he and his sister continue to swim one night a week. Between all the school activities, neighborhood friends, family friends, fall festivities and our Sundays spent at church, we don't have much spare time.
Last Sunday night we did a corn maze with our neighborhood friends, the Almy family.
This is a picture of our prayer corner in the atrium (church classroom). This year we have over 40 children in two separate class times so most of our Sunday is spent at church. It's a great family day and the kids get to see their cousins (Khoury family) and their church friends so they are happy to be there too.
On Tuesday, we had a little scare with Zachary but thankfully he is on the mend. He was graciously helping me cook dinner, but our quality one-on-one time ended when his whole foot stepped down on a hot burner on the stove. Lord Have Mercy!
This kid keeps us on our toes. Last week at church, he sliced his tongue open with scissors because "they aren't that sharp." We had a bloody mess, but within an hour or so, things were back to normal. Randy and I are thankful that he wasn't hurt worse than he was in each instance, but we are also saying a little prayer that he'll start learning some valuable lessons from his recent happenings.
