A few weeks back, we had the pleasure of hosting our good friends from Indiana. Erin, Travis and Nora made the trip to visit and Nolan and Helaina had the opportunity to attend the Red Wings game together! Fun was had by all and we are so grateful they made the journey to spend some quality time with us.
The following weekend, my parents came to visit. It's an annual tradition for them to come a few weeks before Christmas since we spend the actual holiday here in Michigan. The kids love their time with Grandma and Grandpa and now that they're older, we do lots of Christmas crafting, baking, and projects.
Helaina's holiday party was this past Friday. I was in charge of organizing the event and poor Randy got suckered in to helping me every night leading up to the party. There were a few deeps breaths and minor complaints, but overall, I think he'll tell you he makes a real good reindeer water bottle!
Sunday afternoon and evening was our church's Nativity Play and dinner. Yes, that's me, in the middle of 20+ preschool and kindergarten children. Not an easy task to keep them quiet for almost an hour before it was there turn to present and sing. Zachary and Helaina were very excited to be a part of the play, so it's all worth the effort.
The theme of the dinner was Christmas in Candy Land and it was such a fun time. They had a visit with St. Nick, a candy buffet, a kids raffle, and a DJ to keep them busy after dinner. We're already looking forward to next year!
