And we're out...

It's been awhile since you've heard from us! We've finally surfaced among the boxes and packing paper and survived the heat wave in the midst of our move.  I definitely underestimated the amount of "stuff" we had in our house as we were packing and moving into the wee hours of the night.  More on that in a minute...

Here's a picture of the kids at the Northville 4th of July Parade, clapping for the veterans walking by.  The kids had eaten a popsicle, too many pieces of gum, and several pieces of candy...all before 11 am.

We spent most of the last 2 weeks organizing, packing, and moving items to Seedy and Teta's house.  Most days, it was kind of a free-for-all.  The neighborhood kids were fabulous and entertained Helaina and Zach throughout the day, but every once in a while, we'd find Zach hanging out in places he shouldn't have been.
This time, a very high shelf, just to sneak a sip of pop.

Bedtime together.  Zach's just a few months away from getting his own big boy bed!

The last hour in the house in Livonia.  Zach was helping me vacuum before we met the new owners to hand over the keys.

And today, we said our final goodbye to this gem of a house.  Our hearts are heavy as we're leaving behind so many memories and absolutely fabulous neighbors and friends.  They had a going away barbecue for us on Sunday and the Wilson family came through big time in our state of panic on the eve and the day of the big move.  For now, we'll be at Seedy and Teta's until our house is finished this fall.  We spent most of today settling in, and we're so grateful to have a place to call "home" for the new few months.  I know the kids will fondly recall this experience when they are older, and we're looking forward to making memories together.

A sneak peak at the new home.

I (Randy was in Chicago for the night for Jeff's bachelor party) had the pleasure of attending Dan's surprise 55th birthday party last week.  Dan is the husband of Kathy, who is the office manager at the dental office and has become part of our family in the last few years.

The golf theme was creative and lovely!

Lastly, a very Happy Birthday wish to my dad and the kids Papa, as he celebrated his special day on Thursday!  All our love :)
