Porter County Fair and Fun in IN

We've happily settled in Teta and Seedy's house and are finding a new routine.  Things are going really well as the kids are enjoying every minute of "living" with their grandparents.
We took advantage of a free weekend and took another trip to Indiana this summer to experience the one and only Porter County Fair.  Just a few minutes there, and the sights and smells take me back to my childhood and the cherished memories with family and friends.
The weather was really cool for the last weekend in July, but we found ways to keep ourselves busy.  My dad took Helaina fishing down at the creek, and she caught her first fish!!!  She was very amused by the worms they used for bait and the process of reeling in the fish.

Rides at the fair

Seriously Mr. Carney? My son can not ride this train by himself?!?  Better buckle myself in so I don't fall out.

The kids love spending time at the farm.  They ate every red tomato out of Grandma Walter's garden.

Shucking corn with Grandpa Bob.

Don't let this innocent smile fool you.  This kid is finding trouble everywhere he goes.  On the way back to MI last night in the middle of I-94 and three lanes of traffic, this stinker found a way to swing his door wide open.  Helaina was sure that the police man was going to arrest us, and I couldn't get off the highway fast enough to find the child safety lock.  Minutes after we settled back into our drive, Zachary was able to smuggle his way out of the top straps in his car seat.  Mr. Houdini hard at work.
