Success in our Family

Randy and I enjoy sharing a little bit of our life with each of you, but we also would like to take this opportunity to share the exciting news that is happening within our extended family.
Tomorrow, 7.19.08, my cousin Jessica Snook will be marrying her fiance, Jeff Simonds in the Dry Tortugas. This cluster of islands is about 70 miles west of Key West, Florida, which is currently their place of residence. Over Labor Day week, my Uncle Kevin and Aunt Sheila will be a hosting a reception for them in Valpo. CONGRATULATIONS JESSIE AND JEFF!!!
Now, let's travel east to good ole' Indiana and discuss the infamous Porter County Fair.
Most Michiganders haven't even heard of 4-H, but in Morgan Twp., it's a way of life. Cousin Eric McGinley took top honors this week winning GRAND CHAMPION OVERALL of the 4-H foods project. He will be auctioning off his Honey Wheat Bread to the highest bidder this evening at the annual "4-H Foods Auction." The champion has been known to take in over a couple thousand dollars for their top prize. Of course, the 4-H'er doesn't keep the $$, all proceeds benefit a scholarship foundation that will eventually go to a deserving 4-H'er. Alexis, Lindsey, and Justine also received A Honors for their efforts in Consumer Clothing, Cake Decorating, Foods, and Recycling. WAY TO GO! Since I won't be in attendance this year :(, enjoy some elephant ears and wet burritos for Randy and I.
