Art Fair

We have had a long stretch of beautiful weather, and our family is soaking up every moment of this summer! The kids and I look forward to Randy's return home from work every Friday afternoon. That's when the weekend fun begins! This Friday we strolled the streets of the Plymouth Art Fair, second largest art fair in the state. Always a great opportunity to find early birthday and Christmas presents and support the entrepreneur. It was a scorcher so we spent most of our time near the downtown fountain, Helaina splashing her feet in the water and Zachary snoozing in the shade.

A perfect day for this girl, water and smoothies!

Zachary is 12 weeks old today. He's continuing to sleep well during the night (8pm to 7am), and eat well during the day (5 feedings). He's still a sleepy head most days. He struggles to stay awake more than 1.5 hours at a time, and usually takes 3 longer naps. If I had to guess, he's probably well over 15 pounds and getting those chubby roles around his arms and legs.

With Zachary sleeping well at night, our family is much more rested during the day. So we've decided to tackle potty training with Helaina. We are taking the slow and steady approach at this point, and seem to be making progress. Basically when we are at home, she is diaper and pants free most of the day. She is finally able to recognize the urge to pee and uses the potty throughout the day. We reached a bigger milestone today, Helaina had her first bowel movement in the potty! That's big news around here! We've graduated to sticker charts, even though she still thinks she should get a sucker 10 times a day for each successful potty attempt. Unfortunately, she refuses to wear panties or use the "real" toilet (right now it's only the potty chair.) With her success today, I took her for a special shopping trip, we purchased princess and Dora panties. Hopefully, with time, she'll accept these things, and we'll be able to leave the house diaper free! Wish us luck!
